About 1st Take

1st Take was established by Dave Rogers, a history graduate, and Andy Warren, a cameraman and technician, in 1993. Since this time we have worked closely with historical societies and specialist authors to create a range of products unrivalled in the West of England.

Historical Films
After gaining local success with videos on Yate and Chipping Sodbury, we continued this historical theme by looking at other areas in and around Bristol, Bath and surrounding towns. We then broadened our horizons to include subjects such as Aviation, Steam Trains, Buses, Trams, Speedway, Motoring, Shipping and The Second World War.

Since our early days, there have been many technical improvements such as our progress from analogue editing to a full digital process, and of course we have also responded to the ever-growing demand for DVDs. Yet the principle remains the same: to inform and entertain, by giving an historical perspective to dearly loved subjects – be they places, planes, trains, or automobiles!
