BOOK: Barton Hill Revisited
This collection of over 200 previously unseen photographs takes a fresh look at this proud working-class East Bristol community. The local cotton factory was once the biggest in the South of England, and its emergence in the 1840s, following the opening of the Feeder Canal, transformed the area. The superb images in this book recall the schools, shops and pubs which were swept away when Barton Hill was redeveloped during the 1950s and 1960s, and they document the huge changes that took place at that time.
