Experience the Tees, London, Shropshire, the Rheidol Valley, the Lake District, the West Country and more as they really were in the early 1930s, with this beautiful collection of original handcoloured Pathe newsreels. These delightful films were produced before the advent of colour film usage at Pathe. A further 49 minutes of bonus features celebrating bygone Britain include beloved comic actor Rex Dixon talking about his home city of Coventry, surviving episodes of the Hometown series, hop picking in Kent and a behind the scenes look at Canterbury in 1936.

Other features include an extraordinary collection from the late 1950s showcasing town and city centres such as Liverpool, Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, West Bromwich, Stoke, Leicester, Derby. ”To Help Keep our Unemployed Employed” features film from  the ‘Fellowship Holiday Camp’ where hundreds of men passed their time while waiting for work. ”Amphibious Caravan” is a quirky report on the possible future of holidaymaking.  All this and much, much more!
