Three delightful films depicting railway journeys around the Principality.
A nostalgic look at the legacy left by ‘God’s Wonderful Railway’ and a reminder of the brilliant engineers and designers from the company who brought us such wonderful locomotives as King George V, Gloucester Castle, King Edward I and Pendennis Castle.
‘South Wales & the Borders’
Hop aboard the little single-carriage sprinter as we start our bucolic journey at the English border in Shrewsbury, a splendid county town with its imposing castle and innumerable listed buildings, before heading out of town. Stopping off at some of the most picturesque towns in Wales and passing some of its most stunning landscapes before we climb up the Vale of Lampeter to the popular seaside resort of Tenby with its ancient town walls and finally to the end of the line at Pembroke.
To travel by train along the North Wales coast from Chester to Aberystwyth is an experience never to be forgotten passing historic castles, majestic cliffs, bustling towns and sweeping beaches. Our journey begins on the main line but we take out to visit the Snowdon Mountain Railway the Ffestiniog Railway, and various other narrow gauge railways before we reach our destination at Aberystwyth.
