One of the Southern Railway’s famous named trains, with a special link with continental Europe, was Night Ferry. From London Victoria we negotiate the original train’s complex route out of the capital and into the Kent countryside towards Chatham and Gillingham. After dropping down into Faversham, we continue on the rolling hills before descending to our destination at Dover.

Join us for this unique journey along the route of one of the Southern Railway’s famous named trains with a special link with continental Europe: the ‘NIGHT FERRY’.

Starting from London Victoria we follow the route of the original train, negotiating the complex network of lines out of the capital. We speed away into the countryside down the mainline towards Chatham before climbing up to Gillingham. After dropping down into Faversham, we continue on the rolling hills before finally descending into our destination at Dover.

With live sound recorded from the locomotive, we bring the action right to you. This program also features commentary titles & locations, along with driver’s commentary, lineside shots & footplate footage.
