Description

Full description from the producer:

Working our way through 121 hours of unused and unseen archive railway film, shot between 1981 and 1999; and all recorded with the original audio on tripod-mounted cameras.

Highlights of Volume 11 include:

Chester and Crewe: Footage from 1982 and 1983 with 25s and 40s, then Crewe in 1999 with 37s, 47s, 87s and 90s.

Midland Mainline: A great selection of Peaks from the 1980s at Sileby, Market Harborough, Leicester, Kettering and Wellingborough.

North Wales: From 1981 to 1999, the changing face of ‘The Coast’ starting with 25s, 40s and 47s through to the 1990s and Regional Railways 31s, 37s and 101685 ‘Daisy’ in BR Green.

Midlands: Birmingham NS when almost every long-distance train was loco-hauled. Includes 2 x 25s, 37s, 45s, 47s, 50s and Electrics.

Vic Berry’s Scrapyard: The final resting place for many locos, coaches and units with footage from 1987 and the twisted remains of 25s, 27s, DMUs, Mk1 sleepers and GUVs. It’s pretty gruesome at times, but this is how it was, and luckily some made it out alive and survive in preservation today.

Wiltshire: Swindon and Westbury in 1983 with passenger and freight including 56034 and various 33s.

The Conway Crusader Railtour: From 10/3/84, this railtour included 86317, 40029, 40047, 40122 and 50018. From Coventry, the route included Helsby, Hooton, Rock Ferry, Birkenhead Canning Street North, Bidston East Junction and Heswall to Wrexham General and then all the way to Llandudno and Blaenau Ffestiniog. 437 miles of top quality haulage, all for £10.00!
