London in the 1950s. Churchill is Prime Minister, and the city is in ruins from the Blitz. There are no supermarkets, frozen foods or motorways. It is a city of back-to-back housing and smog. The Docks heave with shipping, and no respectable man goes to work without a hat. But the decade brings change. A new monarch takes the throne and the South Bank hosts the Festival of Britain as London emerges from the grim years of Austerity, in this enchanting Timereel production.
N.B. This title has recently been repackaged by the original producer as ‘The Price Of Victory’ but the content remains exactly the same.
