Warrington to Salford. In 1955 Mike Lord rode his bicycle from Bolton to see the Manchester Ship Canal. Fortunately he took his cine-camera and tape recorder with him. The films he took from 1955 to 1964 are pure magic. With over 120 ships on view, coal fired tugs, a ‘Liberty Ship’, Austin Healeys and double deck buses for export , these films show how busy the Canal was just over 50 years ago.
